CTER’s public website is intentionally less detailed than its internal operating records.
Youth privacy
CTER may identify a student researcher by name and role with family authorization, but does not publish exact age, birth date, school schedule, home address, routine field calendar, unsupervised location information, or other unnecessary personal details.
Field location privacy
Research products may use general regional descriptions or coded site IDs. Exact coordinates can be restricted when safety, private-property access, ecological sensitivity, or partner requirements justify it.
Contact information
Information submitted through the website is used to respond to the inquiry and manage CTER-related communication. Do not submit confidential research data, protected student records, passwords, or sensitive personal information through the public contact form.
Research integrity
Public results should identify method versions, limitations, significant processing decisions, and contribution roles. CTER does not knowingly convert missing observations into fabricated values or hide failed measurements simply to make results look cleaner.
External organizations
References to outside institutions, programs, agencies, or opportunities do not imply endorsement or affiliation unless CTER expressly identifies an active relationship.
Safety
Nothing on this website authorizes wildlife handling, regulated collection, boating, diving, hazardous sampling, trespass, or other controlled field activity. Those activities require separate legal, safety, permission, and qualified-supervision review when applicable.
